Slideshow alternatives, anybody got ideas? |
I'm pulling a blank on this one. My HTB really wants to have a slideshow at the wedding with pics of the married couples in the family from their weddings, pics from when we were kids, our courtship, engagment pics...you know the deal. The problem is that I HATE HATE HATE having my picture taken so 85% of pics that we have of me are from way way back when I was young and could be tricked easily. My big problem is that there are literally only like 3 or 4 pics from our 4 year courtship because I hate having my pic taken so much. There just aren't enough to make the usual couple's slideshow. Anybody have any ideas on something else we could do for the slideshow as a compromise? Before you ask...yes I am going to bite the bullet and have a wedding photographer that day. I promised and I love him!.....Lol but only enough for one day of torture. Try giving it a humour touch..take a help of a cartoonist and why not design some cartoons and add some funny tags to it...along with these cartoons u could add up ur snaps..but ppl wud be attracted to the cartoon and snaps wud be on secondary viewing. Another could be done is like u could design ur own small movie, from black and white older days to colorful present days. Frame some pictures and dispaly them on the guest book table. Buy one of those digital photo frames http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/601... and display it a a little table so that a couple of people at a time can view them. Wow. I'd hate so see you uncomfortable on your wedding day. Maybe it could be a really short slide show. Or use photos that you aren't so fond of but have some special meaning, like a fun camping trip or a group photo with friends. Another option is to create a collage of photos of you and your hubby. But families are notoriously filled with photo ops. Holidays, events, gatherings. It might be worth your while to try and get over this aversion. Getting your photo taken doesn't hurt (unless you count the flashbulb). Is it a matter of how you look? Your family loves you and they look at you all the time. Try to think of it as capturing the memories. Your kids WILL want photos of you, so it's worth a shot. All the best on your wedding. You could choose one really good photo and frame it with an extra large light colored matting around it and have people sign the matting. Saw it in Pottery Barn. Or go to canvasondemand, and have one good photo made into a canvas piece of art. Cool. I am the same way...especially after I had our son I didn't want any 'fat' pictures of me. We are getting married this July and we are having a slide show DVD of majority baby and childhood photos. People enjoy reminiscing about your past and how you have grown up...everyone is cute when they are little. You don't need a lot of pictures of you that are modern. Depending on how many songs you pick for your slide show will determine how many photos you need. I think ours was like 25 per song. Just run a few songs as a loop...no one will stick around to watch the whole thing anyway unless you make it part of your reception ceremony. Our reception hall has a seperate bar room away from the bands music...the projector screen is in there so we didn't have to take time out of the fun to show it to everybody...anyone who is interested can enjoy but we won't force them LOL!Good luck to you! |
