Salem Witches!? Ho was yoru experience?? |
How was your visit? I am gonna try to bring the family to Salem and would love to know if there any places I shouldn't miss? Also any other tips in general? Also I am a photographer so if you know of the actual cemeteries or other items of interest I would love to know. Salem is lovely however I didn't get to spend much time there. Got to hit a few witch museums that's about it. They have a trail through Salem that you can follow to all the important sites. One goes through an old grave yard. Sorry I can't be more help but have a nice trip! There are tours and tourist information sites. You won't be able to get away from the fact that untold numbers of innocent ppl where tortured and murdered as witches there and around the country. They are proud of it. Another Christian proof of love and compassion. The oldest cemetery in America is right near the Wax Museum in Salem. Many of Salem's early colonial figures are buried there. I have been there, I go to Salem a lot. The witch museum is good if you've never been there. Make sure you walk Pickering Wharf - cool shops there. Also past the wharf is the House of the Seven Gables. It's a huge commercialized "witch" city. After seeing a lot of pictures from people I know who have visited, I wouldn't go there myself. But, if you do go, I hope you have a better experience than what they had. The Salem Witch Museum has a great free exhibit on Witches, in Salem and around the world. It's called Witches: Evolving Perceptions. There are lots of fun activities to do, Salem Witch Villiage is also fun, and run by REAL WITCHES. My husband and I are headed back this weekend. I'd make the 6 hr drive, just to eat at the Fountain Place Diner again! GREAT soups! |
