If God were an artist, which one would he be? |
Being an artist(my girlfriend calls me a "frustrating" artist, rather than a "frustrated" artist; a term of affection...I hope) and an Atheist, I haven't a traditional picture of God...or any picture at all. Perhaps I just never considered God in terms that I can relate to. So, here is my effort to try. Which of the following artists most closely approaches the ideal of God: Andy Warhol(Completely unapproachable, except through his work) Yoko Ono(Complicated performance artist---I actually like and respect her, and have met her!) Robert Mapplethorpe(Photographer of both the light, and very dark, side of life) Piet Mondrian(Plasticist; think of "The Partridge Family" bus) Otto Dix(Able to construct a very personal hell for everyone) Alastair(Art Nouveau at its most sinister; also a devout Catholic) What do you think? This artistic question has been brought to you courtesy of Jack Piet Mondrian. For sure. I think Dali could do as well. Da Vinci, theres an entire book about it He would still be God....regardless of his endeavors, he would still be himself. Depends on which religion you shooting for! True they are all artists but not gods . if frogs had wings would they be eagles. probably closest to robert mapplethorpe because the common religious view of god deals in absolutism. light and dark = heaven and hell = good and evil God is an artist, just take a look at the earth around you. No one can paint colors like he does. None of those artists you mentioned can ever compare to the beauty he creates every day. |
