1st month pictures? |
in june we had a photographer come out to the house to take pictures of my son who at the time was a month old, and also taken some of my husband and i with him.. the photographer was the ones who took his first pictures in the hospital..so i had them taken and when she went over the packages with me , i couldnt believe the prices they started at 300.00 and went to 1,000.00..i ended up picking a package that came to 479.00 and to me i got alot..an oil painting of the family 20x20, another one that is 16x13, 8 8x10s over 50 5x7s and plenty of wallets plus a cd that has all of the pics on there if i wanted to download them and take to walmart and get printed..i wondered if anyone paid this price for pics before or even more....my husband like to crap his pants but i couldnt help it the photos turned out excellent ..does it sound too high or pretty reasonable? .. sorry if the question is too long..just wanted to see if i was crazy for paying that..lol..thanks.. That is honestly a good price for a photographer to come to your home and for that amount of picture... WOW!. I just graduated from school for photography and the photographers I have seen work are more expensive. I personally took my son to Sears... the picture turned out great but they don't have a huge selection compared to things you can do at your home. Now I just take them myself. It sounds very high, but it is proabably because of the oil painting. I usually pay around $100 for an hours worth of pictures that are put on a disc and touched up. I do not get any actual pictures though. I have to get them printed myself. But thats not that much. That is a huge package, and if you can afford, sounds like a good deal. I can't afford it, so I get a 60 dollar package w/ a 10x13 2 8x10 4 5x7 and about 30 wallets in different poses. Does to me, sounds like you should have pick your package before the pictures at that price. I know the most expensive pictures I ever did was my wedding and I pick the package before. Of course you could have paid through the nose for him coming to your house as well this is ur first child huh???? well usually sears is a lil cheaper with about the same minus the oil painint i would say u got a good deal cuz she did come to ur house and take the pics which made it more comforatbel for u so in the end it was ok....just rememer sears for the next one It's not a bad price. To be honest I've paid a little over AUS$800 for less then that and they're all copyrighted. I paid approx AUS$1100 for three 8x10s, one 16x13 and I think the other was a 20x20 and they also are copyrighted. They were framed though. The $800 portraits were not framed we all do crazy things with our firstborn, though the closest i have ever come to paying that is my senior pictures. I always take the kids to walmart and get the package for 4.88, or 6.88, or whatever. they change their prices certain times of the year. But then again, i do that because that is about all I can afford. It does sound like you got a lot of pictures for your money though, and its never cheap for the oil paintings and big ones like the 16x13 you got. I guess it sounds ok for as many as you are getting |
