As a muslim converted to christianity will I be accepted in New-Zealand as an emigrant on special ground? |
I am a christian and converted from islam some years back while attending university in the US. I have had to hide this to all my muslim family since my return home. Now 10 years have passed, I got married ( my wife knows of my conversion) and from that union I became the father of 3 sons. And still I cannot live openly my chosen religion and due to family and relations my sons grow up as muslims. And have no other choice than just to pretend. Both my wife and me are fluent in English. While she holds a university degree in economics, I on the other hand have been working as a freelance photographer ( I have held several photo exhibitions and have been shooting for high profile companies. I am also well known in my field locally). All we want is to be free to live our life openly without any reprisals. Now I do not fall in the skills wanted for New-Zealand nor do I have any relations there. Is there a church that might be willing to help? No charity we can work and sustain ourself. God Bless you and your family. No. We have a point system where if you meet the criteria you can enter. Although in NZ there is a quota for refugees each year many people wait decades to enter this way. I suggest you do some research first and put forward an application.
