Does anyone have suggestions for clothing for family pictures? |
We are having a professional "grandchildren" picture taken for my in-laws. The kids' ages range from 7 -21 and there are 5 boys and 1 girl. We are pretty casual families and the kids will probably wear nice blue jeans or shorts, but we aren't sure what type of shirts for them to wear. Does anyone have any suggestions for a casual, but nice family photo? The only suggestion that photographer had was to not have the girl wear something different than the boys because she will stand out like a sore thumb. Has anyone had this type of picture done in the past? I will take any suggestions you might have. Thank you. Have everyone wear jeans and then each family group wear the same color shirt. (jane's kids in white, bob's kids in red, john's kids in green, etc.) I saw this in a picture and it was GREAT. Also, in 50 years, everyone will still remember who belongs to who. Hope that helps! it all depends if you like them then dress up or if youre like me and cant stand youre family then look horrable and retarded to make them all mad Try having all grandchildren where denim (pant, shorts, skirt) & a white shirt. Ask the photograher if the photo can be taken against an all white background. My wedding photographer did this with his own family & it was really nice. Good luck I would put them in jeans and white tee shirts (with NO logos or pictures or anything on them), and the girl in a jean skirt. That way she will be different enough but still blend in. Or, when my family did it we had all of the boys in jeans and blue tees, and the girls in jeans and white tees. It turned out great. Whatever you do, jus make sure that you don't have contrasting patterns on your clothes, and that the hues of your jeans are similar. Have fun, I hope it turns out great! What to Wear 飦? I have seen denim family photos and they turn out nice, but not especially classy. We wore black, grey and brown and it looked very sophisticated. Half of the family has olive complexion and the other half is fair skinned. The neutral tones worked well for everyone. Jewelry was kept to a minimum. The color choice was the idea of our graphic artist son who is very successful in his field. The photo is very effective and receives many compliments. We have more boys than girls but the neutral colors neutralized who was in the photos...made us look connected and our faces the focus rather than being distracted by pretty colors. On the other hand, my brother's family chose golf shirt styles in pretty colors that blended with the wife and daughter's floral and it was shot in a garden. It works well on their fireplace in a room that is very feminine. It does put the focus on the females.Think about where you intend to hang the picture, too. Good luck |
