Art students and artists......................?

Please look at this work and give me your critique. The work consists of a Podcast and images. The images are reposed from famous photographers, some contentious.

If you saw this work in a gallery would you think it was contentious and edgy? Do you recognise any of the poses?

Do you see that the source image for one of the images is a nude self portrait? How does that stack up with the Muslim woman in a veil?

First link I love the picture, with the mirror! Very nice. Yes, I do think its edgy, I like it. If this was a gallery, with the talking/music playing on display...Yes, very edgy, new, fresh.

The third link of the person admiring themselves in comparison to the muslim women is outlandish. It brings to mind what maybe a muslim women might do behind closed doors. The photo definitely insights the imagination. I realise that this is not a photo of a muslim women, it honestly looks like a man, (sorry if it isn't) it is a photo of the artist in his/her own realm admiring his/her own body, in its entirety with all the frills of feathers and a very mod like setting.

the last pic with the mirror is edgy and different.

The first set of images would have made a better point, if the women were holding A.K.49`s..! There was`nt anything artistic about the rest!! (in my opinion ,of course!).

I loved the picture in the mirror I thought it was beautiful Im not sure what the original msg was but when i look at it i see a woman looking at herself realizing who she is.As for the other photos they were okay mixed with the sound clip i felt those women were liberated and alive.I kind of like how they all started out it's like a story of a liberated woman.I rather enjoyed it I'm not sure if the rest of the muslim community would agree lol but thats what i felt when looking at it and if thats the msg intended then yes its edgy and meaningful.
