Whats a good way to start an essay?

how do you start an essay. its for my photography class and its on that dead photographer alfred eisenstadt. hes really famous and stuff so if you guys have any ideas on how to start it..help! thanksss!!!!! : )

He may have passed but his photography lives on.


Find the picture of the sailor kissing the nurse. That will give you lots of inspiration.

i normally start mine with a question or like a powerfull statement or something.... anything to keep the reader interested and wanting to read on

1) Tell 'em what you're gonna tell 'em
2) Tell 'em
3) Tell 'em what you just told 'em

It never hurts to start out with an anecdote or personal experience and throw in some humor.
