No, not good, but great! There are tons of famous photographers out there... Ansel Adams, Horst P Horst, Karsh, Kim Anderson, Anne Geddes, Richard Avedon, etc. etc. etc.

Magnum is a collection of big famous photographers, mainly documentary photographers though.

For more commercial / artistic photographers look at:

Sam Taylor-Wood - works with famous people, but takes a very artistic style.
David LaChapelle - bizarre fashion like shoots
Richard Wentworth - what I would describe as accidental sculpture photography...
Francesca Woodman - very moving b+w photography, she committed suicide in her 20's - makes anyone famous.
Martin Parr - stereotypes, has lots of photos based on british culture
