U r on a fast sinking boat & have no lifeboats. U do have a little piece of metal that u can make a raft out of. One problem - u can ONLY fit ONE person on there. U've gotten a signal already that rescue boats will be arriving w/in 20 minutes - fast enough to save that person on that raft. HOWEVER, the others will most likely not make it.

Who gets the raft & why?

a) the little baby (the baby is sleeping and u bent the metal so that he won't fall off, but not sure if he will be safe

b) the 7 yr old girl

c) the fresh out of college photographer who starts his first
assignment next week

d) the 40 yr old famous celebrity who has TONS of fans around world

e) the 52 yr old 8th grade teacher who has a husband & a 3 lovely daughters

f) the 52 yr old sceintist who tells u that he is on the verge of discovering the cure for AIDS (not sure if he telling truth, but looks truthful)

g) the 88 yr old old Holocaust survivor who's going to have grandson next month

h) you

EDIT: THERE IS NO OPTION OF COMBINING baby AND another choice (both of the combined bodies/weights will tip the metal over)

lets see..
a) well, the baby has a whole life ahead... but what if it's not safe...
b) also has a whole life ahead of her and can assure that she'll be safe.
c)no one's gonna benefit from photographs now...!
d) so what if there's fans... when u r dead n gone, ppl find someone else to idolise... they do not feel for u as much as ur family.
e) since she is old, i assume that her daughters are in their twenties or thirties so they can take care of themselves.. and teachers are easy to find...
f) he needs to die!! jk... if he finds a cure, he'll be proving to ppl that having AIDS is ok...
g) happy for him that he's gonna have grandson, but hey, happiness is all temporary esp when u are old and gonna die in no time...
h) hmmm.... nah... i think someone else might attempt to save me so that i can live n help ppl ;)

Just a note to the poster below about room: You wouldn't need additional room on the piece of metal for the baby AND the seven year old. The baby could lie on the seven year old's stomach, which would take up exactly the same amount of room as the seven year old alone would.

And to the person above me: maybe there isn't ROOM for 2 people. Fitting two people on ONE piece of metal would be pretty hard. It's not the weight - it's the room ON the metal.

So, you could only save ONE.
(also, what if the water is cold? You wouldn't be able to stay in the water, you'd die).

you said that there was no way that you could combine any of the answers. I disagree. The baby weighs 12 lbs. 6 oz. which is an ideal baby weight. The seven year old girl weighs 55 lbs. The college photographer weighs 135 lbs. So right there alone the baby and the seven year olds combined weight is only 67 lbs. Which is a lot less weight than the college photographer.

Who cares about the famous celebrity. If they were smart they would have chosen alot better of a cruise ship than one that sinks. Thats their publisists fault. The 52 year old eigth grade teacher is probably a reall *** to the kids in her class. I know my teacher was. Therefore no one cares about her.The scientist is a liar. Because if we know anything from the movies, those who look truthful are the real pricks in the end. The scientist dies.

88 year holocaust survivor. Guess what, you managed to survive the holocaust which is a great accomplishment, too bad you won't be surviving the ship wreck. Can't win them all. I hope you wrote your memoirs.

As for me. I can stay afloat in the sea for more than 20 minutes. I have done it before. So I am not worried. So the baby and the seven year old survive because of their combined weight is not enough to tip over the piece of metal. And I survive because I am an excellent swimmer. As for everyone else. I hope they can swim.

So you can't tell me that you can't save 2 people on the piece of metal. Because you can. You can combine the weight of the 2 youngest and not even come close to the weight of one of the adults. So in theory if you combine the weights of the child and the baby and you say it is too much weight and that the raft will tip. It is likely that no one will survive because the metal isn't strong enough to hold any of the adults. And the baby will fall off. So basically you have a very twisted mind because you want everyone to die. Except me, because as I noted before I am an excellent swimmer.
