What focal length do you use for full body shots in fashion pictorials in fashion magazines? |
Pls. state if you are a fashion photographer Not a fashion photographer, but a typical focal length for most portraiture, full body or otherwise, are often prime lengths from medium telephoto 85mm to between 100 and 200mm. Fast zooms are good, but faster primes are optically superior. IMO. While the head and shoulders shots that feature sunglasses, jewelery, make up, hair and other things are shot with a 85mm or 105mm lens, full body shots are usually shot with a "normal" lens (50mm on 35mm camera or 80 on a 6x6 camera). Use the lens that is called nmormal for your camera. I have a friend who did wedding pictures for years (retired now); he always used a 90MM lens. Hope this helps. |
