Am I too late to become a fashion photographer?

That's it! I have had it with my lame job in an export office. I want to turn into a fashion photographer. I take great pics and want to improve. I am 30. Am i too late?

Definitley not. I consider you very young at thirty. This is a great time to start. However, I suggest you have a plan to fall back on until you really take off. It's always great if you have two incomes coming in. Also, if you believe in yourself and your work ,soon others will too. So just visualize yourself becoming a great photographer everyday! It works. Visualization is an important tool in reaching success, because you are pushing that idea into the subconcious mind and your body will begin to more easily react to anything regarding that reoccuring image or anything related to it. Also, start a website and put a portfolio of your work up. Advertise it everywhere you can. Make videos on youtube showing off your work. Set cool music to your pics! Before you know it you'll have tons of fans and tons of work! Create a logo or trademark, to make yourself more recognizable and give yourself an identity. This can be in your name or a drawing etc. Also, start a myspace account related to only your work and friend request. Friend request fashion icons and agencies too!

Never too late -- however you are trying to move into a line of work where everyone and thier brother,sister, mother etc etc is diong , to be set apart from the rest of the crowd you will need to be WAY better than all the others.

no way! in that type of job you can be any age, as long as you're good. get a rockin portfolio going and start marketing yourself. need to pair up with a wicked makeup artist? (mememe!) teasing you of course, best of luck in your career endeavour!

nope 30 is just when life is starting homeboy go have fun with life. if u want u can take pics of my designs that i make. im also a model for m own fashion line.

maybe start off doing senior photography, and weddings etc.

depending on wear you live there may not be a huge fashion scene. you need to be around the big city for that. but even doing smaller jobs like weddings could be fulfilling if you really love photography. you make a decent amount of money and you'll help people remember the most important day of their life!

i agree with the other girl that said to make a myspace, or youtube accounts. it seems like THAT is the way to get into the biz now a days... atleast to get popular really fast.

it's never too late to do anything. if you have the talent and the determination and are willing to put in a lot of hard work then you can be anything you want to be!
