What cources do you recomend for grade 11 to become a photographer?

im intrested, and have been for about 4 years.
but i'm not sure what cources will be helpful for my career.
im intrested in freelance, artistic, fashion, and commercial photography. :) help me out please.

i've already taken art, and photography cources.
but I know I need more.
so im looking into yearbook classes, involving photography [tech]
and now, I know I need more. so any suggestions?
or even tips on after high school?

ps. i'm going to a photography college in new york when i'm done that. so please, ANY ADVICE IS WANTED.

Aside from the obvious suggestions as mentioned previously that will help you improve your aesthetic sensibilities: color theory, 2-d concepts, 3-d concepts, various art history (classical, modern), typography, intro to graphic design/illustration etc...I will tell you from experience both in professional practice as a commercial photographer as well as a past student and faculty member in various educational institutions that the most successful and articulate photographers/artists were the ones who had a very eclectic knowledge of various academic subjects outside the field of art and were able to infuse this knowledge with their aesthetic abilities. If photography and photography alone is all you know then the scope and creativity of your work will reflect it. So if you are going into commercial arts, at the very least take some classes in advertising, but try to expand as much as possible. Trust me, when you enter college and look at the people who are at the head of the class not only can they make good art, but they can talk about it as well and not just from the standpoint that these colors are complimentary, or I used the golden rule to give this image balance.

If you're going to understand the courses, better start with English!

Journalism classes, art classes, geography (helps to know where you are going).. take a business class, accounting... things which will be very helpful if you open a studio one day. Theater classes, if your school offers such, you can learn a great deal about lighting, in a theater class.

Join the Photography club if there is one, the Yearbook committee, talk to the coaches about photographing the games. Talk to the Art teachers about photographing sculptures, and other art works..
