Boyfriend is an import model fashion photographer. How can I help him out to make myself more comfortable?

My boyfriend just recently teamed up with a website to take pictures of import models and cars. I'm trying everything I can to be more comfortable about the idea of him taking photos of import models, but the more he does this, the skimpier the clothes are getting. He's asked me to come along on the shoots to help myself become more comfortable with the idea, but really, what can a girlfriend do on a set like that? I've been suggested to take up doing make-up, but I don't know the first thing about make-up, just what I put on myself which is very natural. So what can I do to help my boyfriend out, to help myself to be more comfortable about him being a photographer for import models?

Just go along and read a book or take a notebook computer. You may find a way to help that interest you or not. If you're not interested in being a makeup artist (MUA), just standing there holding a camera or light meter can be a big help.
It's normal to worry about a guy looking at women, but he is thinking more about creating a photo that other guys will want to look at.

Learn how to be a photographers assistant.

While on the set, you can talk to the other people there and watch the MAU's working.

Try learning something about the field. you may nor end up helping him but it can give you a better persepctive on it and see it more as business. your a very good gf if you even let him. some girls would hear "model" and panic. shows you have trust in him.

What is making you uncomfortable? Him seeing half naked models? There are so many people on the set little will happen other than pictures being taken. Think of it like a doctor. He sees a lot of undressed woman that does not mean he will cheat on you.

You could learn how to be a photo assistant by simply working on his site and watching his other assistant. You can work under a make up artist to learn how to do make up. This is a good skill you can use for a long time. You could also learn how to run the business and help him manage it. Most all photographers are so busy with shooting that they welcome the help with estimating, billing, answering calls, showing portfolios and scheduling jobs.

This off course if you are willing to give up your current job. There is something said in our industry to have a partner who has little or nothing to do with out businesses and has a secure income.

Personally I wouldnt do it. His work is his place. As much as he cares about you by asking you to come along I would maybe go to one or two but thats it if even that. His work is his safe haven from you. Just like you probably have things you do to get some time away. Dont move into his personal time it will cause relationship problems and thats more important than him shooting photos of models. Your confidence in him not screwing around is more powerfull than anything trust me it makes us men go nuts. By acting like it doesnt bother you; you seem less needy and there is no model or import car (well maybe not the car) that can take his brain off of that fact. I would just support his career as much as you can by telling him how good he is at it (guys have egos that need to be fed) and leave it at that.

1. don't freak out.
Sounds like your boyfriend is a "professional" photographer (obviously). Trust him enought to be professional about it.
