Fashion photography as a major/career? |
besides thinking about fashion journalism I've also been thinking about fashion photography. I'm in school for photography now and there are a few fashion photographers in school with me. It is definitely a VERY competitive market, and takes a lot of work but the pay-off is good. You would start out as an assistant to a fashion photographer and that would get you into the field. You would learn a ton, and assisting is something you can do while you're in school. From there you will start photographing your own models and building a portfolio. Your portfolio will be your lifeline- clients will rely on it. |
