The university's site is down so I thought I would contemplate it in the meantime. Fashion photography, if that helps. Yeah I was trying to find out what they want but the site is down... :( ok i will do my best fashion is well out of my field photographically although i do try to dress like im in rome or paris.......
this is just my angle take whats good for you,
have 6 images, not to many not to few, best they want to see more than to bore people
best image last, 2nd best first, thats my angle - what do they end up looking at.....they have forgoten the first one
try to show your lighting abilities, your compositional skills,
i would make a white on white to (like lace on a solid fabric - both white and fill the frame) - it will show you have exposure down if the whites are white not grey and there is full texture in the white,
hope others give other image ideas
a Well all photographers whether they end up working in the fashion industry or editorial or sports or scientific or whatever, they all have to learn the same basics .. I say basics, but learning those can take years of schooling, years of experience working as an assistant to a pro.
Now back to your question re: the university portfolio .. (book)
Check with the requirements of your school. Some only require a CD of your top ten or twenty images that show what skills you already have, compositionally and technically.
Others require a proper portfolio, in a portfolio case with archival images mounted and ready to hang.
Before you spend a lot of time and money printing prefect prints and mounting them, find out what the school wants. |
