Im starting to think about college alot now...? |
Hey I am 16 going to be 17. I will graduate in 2009. Okay so whenever I get free time all I can think about is what I am gonna do after highschool....because I have no idea. =/ I never really had a major interest in something...all I know is I want to make good money...and have the possiblity to get known...like every other person in the world. Just relax. Yes, u shuld b thinking about college but at the same time you don't become a senior until next year. I'm a senior now, and I've been accepted. I was just as worried as you are now. Just look at some colleges and think about what you truly enjoy doing. Ask yourself: Is this something I could do for the rest of my life and get paid for? When the time comes, you will know what you want to do. As for now, you can read up on some of your interests and see if the career would interest you umm im still in middle school and i know a college i wanna go to. lol look some up and see them online that would help What about enertainment journalism-- think Rolling Stone (with your writing and photography), and getting to meet people that share the same interests that you have! it dont matter what you take, go to LSU and party =] what school do you go to? because at my school they have a specific counselor JUST for college. The College Counselor. Hes there to help you pick the right college for what you want to do, and i think the regular counselor can help you with exactly what you want to do (like what your talking about). when you go back monday ask a teacher or something. Well I can't pick for you. There are many careers here! I would certainly suggest getting yourself into a college of choice and taking classes in those fields. Maybe something will click on and you'll love it! Hope everything goes well. Go to college and try out different things until you find one you like, your usually made to take alot of different courses anyway to see where you loyalties lie before picking a major, you dont need all the right answers now or even in the first two yeaars of school, more than likely something will hit you on the head along the way. Go to college and study communications. its an easy degree and if you pick the right career path you can do all those things you mentioned. talk to the college counselor at your school, or possibly a career counselor. you've listed things you like and things you're good at, that's a good start. If you can find one that group, possibly finding branches within those choices, you could narrow it down. Remember, most people end up changing their major within their first two years of college, i was one of them. I went from nursing to journalism. Start focusing on what you really want to do. Experimenting always helps.. Borrow a camera and take some photos that might interest you. Ask your teachers or friends who might know a thing about sewing, music, or literature. It helps to try harder. Get a nice job you're interested in for an intern and it may help you get into a good college. DO NOT GO TO COLLEGE YET!!! It is a fact, that most teenagers at you age that go to college usually never complete college or end up changing their major halfway in between. Leaving you in debt thousands of dollars in school loans. I am in that situation, and so are my friends. You too young to decide what you will be doing with your life. I started out studying game art and design and was sooo passionate about it. But I am now an electric sign manufacturer with a successful business and would have never imagined that I would be where I am now. TRUST ME, wait until at least 20 before going to college so your not paying off student loans for the rest of your life! I think you should just go to school for general ed. and then decide after you've been there for a while. So many people end up changing their major anyway, and it wastes so much time and money, you're better off giving yourself time see what you're really interested in. will even if you rely want to make a good money, you need to love what you do ,so just tray em all and then decide which one you like the most |
