How do I start designing my magazine?

I'm putting together an art & culture magazine (fashion photography writing travel...) how do I put together what I have into a magazine layout? Like software wise what is good? Is there anything a little more basic than adobe in design that will still put magazine pages together? I'm looking for quality, user-friendliness, something I can take to the publishers and have printed from.

Most magazines will use either Adobe Indesign or Quark Xpress for their design work. Some still use Adobe Pagemaker. All are expensive and, as you quite correctly say, not simple to master.
If you plan to make this a professional-looking magazine then sooner or later you'll need to invest in one of the above programs. Most magazine pages will be printed from high-resolution PDFs so you need to think about that too. Speak to your printer/publisher and see what they are able to use.

Corel Draw is best for magzine designing. Its a lot more simple and user friendly than adobe. I think its even better than adobe in magzine designing. But the best thing for you is that you do all your photographs editing in adobe and compile your magzine in corel
