Course Choices :\? |
It's the time of the year to choose my subjects. And i'm completely confused. I would love to study photography or fashion but i'm being adviced to go down the academic route :S Should i do what people say and end up doing a job i hate but i'm well paid for? Or should i go for it and do what i want to do? Or maybe a bit of both ? I'm so confused.... Please help :[ I would suggest sticking to the mainly academic core subjects for at least your first year. You'll get a feel for the school and hear about other courses from other students in addition to some more time to get a better idea of what you would like to do in life. Then, you can make changes to your four-year plan later down the road and substitute some electives into your schedule. If you want to study photography and/or fashion I would choose that route. Since this question is in the Primary & Secondary Education section I would assume you are in Intermediate or High School. That being said I would focus on both the photography and/or fashion as well as the academic side. If you decide to go to college you are going to need both knowledges in order to get into a college and from there you can make your emphasis photography and/or fashion design. Do what you want to do! Trust me, you'll be so much happier if you pick something you're passionate about. Maybe you could even combine the two and be a fashion photographer! Do you know that quote that goes something along the lines of "If you have a job you love, you'll never work a day in your life"...do what you love, not what you think is going to bring in the most money. do what you want and maybe take the academic classes, and photography as an elective, i dont think you can take a fashion class in high school, but art would be a good idea, you should have rrom for 2 electives. art is really fun in high school, trust me. and photography is great too. that was probabbly one of my fav classes last year. my aunt takes photo of wildlife stuff and made a book, its pretty easy, but you dont get much money unless u plan on photography for a magazine or something. |
