In Photoshop CS2, how do I take a label off a piece of clothing I have taken a picture of ?

I do fashion photography, yet the label on a woman's clothing is sticking out. It's very anoying.

Anyone know?

Clone Stamp too... okay so I think we can agree that thats what you should use.

However no one has really explained how to use it.

Select the clone stamp tool from the tools palette.

You will most likely want a soft brush to work with.

Select a round brush and set the hardness 0%

With the Clone Stamp tool still selected press alt(pc) or option (mac) and click a part of the image that you want to use do draw over the part you want to remove.

Then when you click and draw on the tag that you want to remove, you will be able to take the information from the spot you selected by alt/option clicking and cover up the tag.

You may also want to adjust the size of your brush.

You can do this by pressing the bracket keys "[" and "]"

left bracket to make the brush smaller and right bracket to enlarge the brush.

Also if you want more control, you can work on a separate layer. You can do this by making a layer above the image you want to edit.

PC: Control+Shift+N (new layer)
MAC: Command+Shift+N (new layer)

This can also be achieved by click the new layer icon in the layers palette. (icon looks like a sticky note)

When you have a transparent layer over the image you want to edit, select the new layer and then the clone stamp tool.

At the top of the screen there should be a check box that says sample all layers. Check this box.

This will allow you to sample information from the layer below and draw on to the new layer.

It's helps just in case you mess up, then its on a separate layer.

Good luck. Source(s): photoshop experience.
The clone tool
Use the cloning tool and "clone" or copy a piece of the background behind the label (which I assume would be the clothing, or perhaps her skin) to cover the label. If you're not familiar with the cloning tool, you could try just a plain copy and paste of the immediate background or simply smearing it over the label, but the result will be less professional looking.
