What is the best college/university for photography? |
I am a visual arts student and if i would like to persue a career in fashion photography, or more of a photojournalism aspect i don't know what the best school would be, especially an accreddited one. Any input would be helpful If you are into photojournalism I would suggest Western Kentucky University. Their photoj students have done well in the Hearst competition. Missouri has also had a good rep for the field but I didn't like the way course offerings were handled. I have seen some excellent work out of the Brooks Institute. I guess it really depends on if you want a broad educational experience or a specialty degree. I've been college hunting lately too. It's really hard to find good schools for graphic design or photography. Have you checked out Savannah College Of Art & Design? They might have a program that you'd be interested in. http://www.scad.edu/ Academy of Arts San Francisco (I think there's also one in Los Angeles and Atlanta) and Brooks Institute of Photography Art Center, in Pasadena, CA. |
