Could you please reccommend a camera... [more inside]?

Could you please reccommend a camera, lens and flash for me?
Im getting my first SLR or EOS
which one would be better for a beginner, ill be using it for places like warped tour, projekt revolution, scenefest, ectect.

so lol, heres my question
1. Whats better for a beginner, EOS or SLR?
2. Reccomend a camera, flash and lens
3. What lens is best for this type of photography
4. What flash is best for this type of photography

1. EOS is an SLR made by Canon.
2. What's your budget? For something like you... let's say below $1000. A Nikon D40x and the kit lens + SB600, or a Canon Digital Rebel XTi + kit lens + 430EX.
3. I don't understand warped tour/projekt revolution. But based on your other question, I'm guessing that they are band name. Fast lenses are helpful for this kind of thing. They are expensive though. The Canon EF-S 17-55 f2.8 IS are great for this type of photography. But they cost at around ~$950.
Otherwise you might want to take a look at fixed focal length/prime lenses. The 50mm f1.8 is a great start at ~$75 - or better the 50mm f1.4. If you need something wider/more zoom, there are the 85mm and the 35mm. You can't zoom with these lenses, but it's really fast (great for low light condition) and it's razor sharp.
4. Any flash with tilted heads are great. Something like the SB-600 for Nikon or 430EX for Canon. I would recommend a SB-800 for Nikon or the 580EX II for Canon - and add a diffuser in case you're shooting in high ceiling venue/outdoor. Of course, they are expensive so adjust your budget accordingly.

I hope this helps.

Personally I have had a good experience with the Nikon D-40.
The Nikon's are really popular and you can usually get them for a good price. (between 450 and 550 bucks) I would recommend that you go to a target and they will usually have one on display for you to look at. but that only comes with a 35 mm lens. But if you go to b&h photography (google it) they have a D-40 for around 485 and they will send it to you in 3-5 days. (it comes with a 55mm lens)

Go to b&h photography

I think you asked about shooting live bands. So here's what I would suggest for a new shooter on a budget:

Nikon:
Nikon D40, 18-70mm AF-S and either the 55-200mm VR AF-S lens or the more expensive 70-300mm VR lens with SB-600 flash. At a distance use the 55-200 VR lens or 70-300 VR lens and no flash. Close up (like really close up), use the 18-70mm AF-S with the flash.

Canon:
Canon EOS XT, 18-55mm lens, and EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM lens. Pair it with a Canon flash. Same suggestions.

Big issue: will you be able to get into the venue with gear like this. I'd check ahead if I were you.

These suggestions are based on you having a tight budget. If money is no object...try a Nikon D3 with a 70-200mm f/2.8 AF-S VR lens and a Nikon 200-400 f/4 VR. No flash needed.
