What is it that flash photography do?

i always hear the tv presenters warnig about flash photography in a news clip. what does it do to people?

When a number of flashes are going off in a short span of time (pop pop pop), it has been known to trigger seizures in certain individuals. This is known to happen to certain people that play video games as well, and each system is required by law to mention this in the owner's guide.

It's distracting and/or it can temporarily blind the person.

It can cause those who suffer with epilepsy to have an epileptic fit

Yup, can trigger seizures in people with epilepsy. Not blindness :]
