Any ideas for black and white film.....?

I'm doing a photography project for class, and I need stuff that I can do indoors to make some interesting black and whites on film.

I'm trying to use a small area and just use things from around the house to make the image... I'm going for natural lighting, through a window, (need to not use flash) but want to get good details on the subject.... I'm stumped.

I've looked up black and white photos on the 'net but not comming up with much from those searches... The only things I can come up with are kitchen utensels (sp?) and kids toys on black backgrounds (or white backgrounds to give more detail and better lighting).... Any other ideas are welcome and appreciated.
Thanks.

Take photos of black and white people.

People are always the most interesting. Normally when I shoot for my class, I go to public places, and shoot people. It's great, and you get natural emotion. Making your pictures even better.

Box wars >_>
You make box robots/suits of armor and battle! :D

Old fashioned clothing, you can get them from the thrift stores. Old stuff I guess.

Flicker has great ideas, just put in a word and search what others have come up with!

It would help a lot if you had said what the goal of the project is, but here are some ideas....

If you are going for some things that are just around the house and natural lighting, then what I would recommend is that you be sure and use objects that have a lot of texture to them and put your camera on a tripod so that you maintain sharp focus.

One idea is perhaps opening up the blinds so that they cast lines across your subject. You could possibly have a plant on the left and a bowl of fruit on the right. The plant should be all the way on the left side of the frame and extend from the bottom of the frame to the top. The bowl of fruit should be right next to the plant (maybe a little in front or behind it for interest sake) and have fruit with texture. Shoot it at eye level with the bowl and it should be a decent shot. Experiment with things like this and try to make imaginary triangles from the arrangement of the objects in the picture and also UTILIZE THE RULE OF THIRDS. That will help make your photos more interesting as well. (Google it if you've never heard of it before). But anyway, good luck, be creative and enjoy photography, it is a lot of fun!!!!

I agree with psyched. = )
