Is there is like a DIY method to light up a small area for up-close photography?

I'm not a pro photographer and I want to take photos of a small objects like cell phones, and to do so, I need to shoot up close (10"-15" far)..
and since the flash wouldn't work in "up close" mode, I tried to use a few lamps to light up the shooting area. but I got a bad results partly because my cam doesn't have a night mode.
Anyone can help with making a suitable lightning using everyday lamps and parts??

There's all you need to know! Enjoy!

If you use a few table lamps and set your camera's white balance to "tungsten" (aka "incandescent), it should work out okay.

You could always use the power of the sun. Is there a reason you need to shoot these photos in the evening? Adjusting lighting can be challenging. And it is a critical component to good photos.
