Is flash photography bad for your eyes and sight?

I see the stars on the Oscar red carpet and they're getting tons of flashes to them. Bono of U2 wears sunglasses because of his eyes' sensitivity to flashes. Are flashes bad for your sight?

No, flashes are not dangerous to your vision. They can cause headache or be uncomfortable.
Sunlight, eclipse light, UV light, laser light are harmful to your eye health. So don麓t look at them.
You can use special glasses to prevent discomfort (eg. reflex free glasses, Transitions etc.).

i think it would hurt your eyes
