How to attatch studio lights with canon 300d? |
i am new to photography and have never used studio lights. but want to work with it. i have looked at users manual but have not find anything related to it. all it says you can use extra flash and studio lights with it. could you please how to use them in details. i have canon 300d. thanks in advance The best way to go is to purchase a "Pocket Wizard". It is a radio controlled device that puts no strain on the flash shoe of the new DSLR's. Both Canon and Nikon DSLR cameras can only tolerate a less than 12 volt trigger pulse (some Canon cameras state less than 6 volts). Most of the studio strobes have upward of a 300 volt trigger and that can fry any DSLR camera. The pocket wizard has four different channels, so in a studio setting, there could be four different strobe setups and the photographers would not interfere with each other. Source(s): Editorial, sports and glamour photographer. The Pocket Wizard that an earlier answerer mentioned is a great product. I use one all the time in the studio. However, if you don't want to spend that much money, you might want to look into a Safe Sync by Wein. It connects to the hot shoe on the camera and you plug a sync cord into it. I wholy agree with both answers above. pocket wizard (approx $180 for transceiver, you'll need 2 of them) for wireless Wein's Safe-Synch for wired ($50-$60) plus the correct PC cord to your lights. DO NOT USE THE CHEAPER hotshoe to PC connector (usually around $15-$20) as they are designed for older manual focus cameras with no electronics below the flash contacts. If you use this one you will short your hot shoe and now have a $150+ repair. |
