Thinking of buying an Apple Livebook? |
I need a new laptop as my harddisk is dying on my PC for the second time. I had replaced it a year and a half ago. I like to do a lot with photography and I heard Apple was good for that. I have some questions? How Plug and Play is Apple? I have a new external 17" screen-will that work with Apple? Will my flash cards work with Apple? Have any of you Apple Livebook owners had issues with your Livebook? What is the best firewall/Virus program for the Livebook? Thank you Ha ha... Are you referring to the Macbook or Macbook pro? Livebook reminds me of Fujitsu's Lifebook. Plug and play is not a big deal on Apple, it works perfectly without glitches. The flash cards you are talking about are they those memory cards you use on our camera? If so, I think you need to get an external card reader for them. Apple's computers do not have an internal card reader. For my case, my printer has those card slots so I just slot my SD card there, on my printer and the card can be read on my Mac. I currently own 2 macs, a Macbook and an iMac. So far there are no issues, albeit the usual heat issue on my Macbook. If you really want an effective anti-viral program for your mac, you could get Norton's antivirus for mac. If you want a complete list of such programs, here's a webpage: http://www.pure-mac.com/virus.html... Macs are less vulnerable to viruses but it is always better to play safe. As for a firewall, your router could be set to double as a firewall. Plus macs come with an internal personal firewall you can configure to your preference.
