How to add an external flash to a Canon Powershot G2? |
Hi, I am trying to figure out how to add an external flash to a Canon Powershot G2. I am trying to figure out how or what item to use to add a flash to the "hot shoe(is this what it is called?)" on top of the camera. I saw on the Canon page the suggestion to get a "High-Power Flash HF-DC1" but the picture of this has it mounting on the side of the camera, not using the area on the top of the camera - that I thought was for a flash. I am thinking of buying a flash because I was asked to do the photos for a friends wedding - that is being held in a dimly lit multipurpose room. Thanks in advance for any input! Wedding photography suggestions welcome too! Thanks! The hot shoe is not where wedding photographers typically mount their flash units .. it is not usually high enough to avoid red-eye problems. You can purchase a Canon Off-camera shoe adapter which will allow you to mount the flash higher using a flash bracket. Check with your local pro camera store and see what they have you can use. |
