What speed film is appropriate for indoor photography without a flash? Depending on exactly how much light you have, a 400 ISO film would be fine, but extemely low light would require 800 ISO or above. A 35MM SLR should have a light meter to help your decision. 400 OR 800, 400 WILL GIVE YOU BETTER QUALITY PRINTS, NOT AS GRAINY AS 800 well i had photography in high school and i think its like an ISO of like 400 It depends on how much light is there in the room... If you are talking about an arena or gym and you are doing a sporting event at least 800...... If you are in a house and you want to take pictures without a flash. GOOD LUCK! 28 years of Professional Photography...... You can use ISO 200 also, if you are using a 1.4 lens (and a tripod) or a 2.8 IS/VR lens. This is would be nice for portraits. However, if it is only artificial righting (only bulbs/incandecent tubes and no diffused sunlight entering the area), you should go for ISO 400 (photos will be either noisy or blurred, if you are shooting moving/alive objects). For candlelight long exposure images, you should use ISO 100. experience |
