At this time the camera I'd want to buy is a Fuji s9600 but with a 18x zoom and Image stabilization, and face recognition options, to go with their "5th generation" 1/1.6 CCD image pickup. Obviously this camera is not currently on the market.
Are their any web sites that provide information on the "near future" of digital cameras? I would hate to buy the s8000fd with it's sub-standard ccd only to find that an s9000 version of the s8000 was coming out for this year's Christmas season.
Thanks! None that I know of. But the question you should ask yourself is, would such a site make sense? Because there are basically two possibilites here:
- Either the site receives official information from knowledgeable manufacturer sources, and then every other photography site would simply echo this site's news, and the site would therefore be no longer unique and special.
- Or the site doesn't receive any 鈥渋nsider info鈥?and essentially relies upon speculation and rumour spreading... just like any other not-to-be-trusted photographic site.
And yes, there always are 鈥渓eaks鈥? but these obviously can't be provided to the general public in a consistent manner and through a continuing site, because sooner or later each manufacturer would see to it that the leaker couldn't keep providing this insider info to the site. Leaks are, and will continue to be, sporadic (and, for that same reason, can't be easily distinguished from mere fakes and rumours). |
