the camera is 4 megapixel / 6x optical zoom 3.4 digital zoom
just wondering if it is a decent camera? if not do you have any sugestions? Guess it depends on your expectations and what you're paying for it. It's an older camera, but the megapixel rating is good for 4x6-5x7 size photographs with no difficulty and a 6x optical zoom isn't too bad. Forget about the digital zoom though, it's a completely junk feature. If you are only expecting to use it as a snapshot camera, maybe at most to print an 8x10 or just to email photos to other people it's not bad.
Now the big question is what the price is. This camera has been discontinued (the lowest model S series camera Fuji still has on their website is the S6500fd) and I think it's been on the chopping block for a while, so if you're buying it from a retail location it is most likely a demonstration model or returned unit. If you're getting it cheap or from an individual who's just looking to get rid of it, that's not a big issue, but if they're trying to sell it for retail price there's cameras for the same price range with higher megapixel ratings and better features. it is
