How should I take good care of my digital camera? |
It's a Fuji Finepix 5600 and it's been almost a year since I've bought it. Keep it safe in a good camera case. They make them with soft lining that won't scratch your camera or your screen, padding helps as well. The case should have a small pocket for a spare memory card and a spare battery. Keep it away from water, don't drop it and use a soft lint free to keep it clean. If your camera's screen is still unscratched, put a piece of clear packing tape over it. You have to apply the tape in one smooth motion with no bubbles. It's really difficult to do correctly, but if you get it right, you'll barely see the tape when it's new. Be careful of the camera strap when you set it down somewhere. If the strap is hanging off the edge of a table, it's very easy for someone to accidentally get it caught on their foot and send the camera flying onto the floor. I've seen it happen more than once. Take bubble baths with it. Don't put a filter on it, you'd rather scratch the lens. Clean the lens every other day with sandpaper or your t-shirt. Take it to the beach a lot. Be sure to get as much sand in it as possible. Leave it in the sun, they like to tan. Remove the camera strap, never place it around your neck. Long drops to concrete help cameras. Never place it in a padded case, it keeps dust off it and stops dents from forming on the body. |
