How do I downsize digital photos? |
I am using a Fuji Finepix S3500 digital camera which works great, even for me. The main problem occurs when I email a photo to someone. All pics come off camera at approx 1G.and when I email them they are received at a size that does not fit onto the screen. Yes, there is an easy way. If you are using Windows XP, open the photo in Miscrosoft picture manager. I use Irfanview. It's a free photo software program that lets you modify digital photos. The way I do it there is to open a photo and "resize" it to "best fit to desktop" and select "preserve aspect ratio" so it doesn't get distorted, then save it as a JPEG which you can then email. Irfanview is easy to use and has lots of cool features. You can buy photoshop or others as well, but for what you want to do, Irfanview is good. here is program to resize photos Instead of having to downsize your photos by installing additional software, saving as another file (causing duplicates and filling up your hard drive), I would just adjust the settings on your Digital camera to a setting smaller that 1G per picture. I believe that would be the best way to solve your problem and it's a one time fix! Good luck. |
