I ordered me a Fuji 8 MP Digital camera that has 7.6 digital zoom, 2 1/2 LCD monitor and picture stabilization. Is on sale for $179.99 reg. $229.99. I was just wondering if anyone has one and if its worth buying. I just wanted you guys option. The model # N1598. fuji is a very good camera

Give us the model number and we will comment on the camera OK that number you supplied is not the model number. I am guessing that you were looking at an online website called fingerhut.com which uses that catalogue number and mentions the Fuji camera.
If I am correct then this camera is a Fuji Finepix A820. It seems OK but is nothing special. I quickly found it on Amazon for $137. Link appears below.
BH Photo in New York also carry this camera for $139, so that seems to be about the money you should be paying for it.
BH Photo have excellent ratings on http://www.resellerratings.com You should use this service to check any online retailer you are thinking of using. Coincidentlally when I search there for Fingerhut nothing comes up, even though they have owned their website since 1993. Hmmmmm
Just my thoughts. teef_au I have to agree with Fhotoace. There are exactly three Fujifilm cameras, from two different enough series, that more or less fit your quoted specifications, except that none of them actually have picture stabilization technology, just a shooting mode that boosts the ISO sensitivity (making the image noise go up as fast as the image quality goes down). Fujifilm haven't actually used real, mechanical image stabilization up until their two most recent models (none of which is likely the one you ordered).
Chances are, you bought either the F40fd, the A800 or the A820. There's no such Fujifilm camera as the #N1598, that's probably the shop's internal register number/code for the product. To help us know which one you actually bought, check here...

But I do agree with Fhotoace, too, in that it seems somewhat pointless to comment on a buy you already made. Unless you are prepared (and have the chance) to return it with minimal or no cost in case we comment negatively on it, nothing we'd say would make the camera more satisfactory to you. |
