Whyyy wont my camera connect via USB?

RIGHT.

The usb port does work because my phone connects fine.
It wont connect :( It used to connect fine but now it wont.
Its a fuji finepix A820 ands its only from christmas so its not old.

Any ideas?

Have you tried with a different cable as that one may be faulty?

Could you take the memory card out and put it straight into the computer (if it has the relevant port)?

I'm not sure but if you're not the administrator on your PC then there may be some permissions problems.

There may be dust in the port or cable so try blowing it out.

Oh and there's always the old turning it off and on again trick (the PC that is) just in case it works afterwards.

Assume you mean 1) Your phone connects to the PC via USB 2) The camera used to connect to PC via USB but no longer does.

As you say the USB port on the PC must be OK USB port on the camera or the firmware within the camera or the driver on the PC

Am not familiar with the camera yoo have but I guess it came with an installation disk.I would try to re-install the drivers etc. as a first step.Good luck.

    See if you can find a memory card that already has pictures on it. If you can view those pictures or the camera menu, your screen is fine and the problem is most likely with the ccd (image sensor)...
