I have an old digital camera, Fuji 1.3mega pixels... it shoots video...how do I transfer that...?

It is a good camera .. buy SD memory cards for it, then if in a few years you want to buy a different brand, chances are the memory cards you will have by then will fit your new camera as well.

The software that came with the camera should automatically detect when you plug the camera into the computer and ask you if you wish to transfer pics to the pc. Make sure the camera is on.

If those are your two choices, I would say go for the Fuji. You mentioned the extended zoom range, the Fuji has it for you.

If it's either Olympus or Fujifilm, yes. Otherwise, no.

Normally, digital cameras would shoot stills much better than vcam as these are really designed for pictures. In like manner, a camcorder would definitely record much better videos than a digica...

Have you tried with a different cable as that one may be faulty? Could you take the memory card out and put it straight into the computer (if it has the relevant port)? I'm not sure but ...
