How long do disposable cameras last?

I was planning on getting disposable cameras for each table at the reception. I was at a party store today and they had these way cute white wedding cameras on clearance for only $1! They were fuji film cameras! I thought this was a great deal but my wedding is not until January! If I buy them now will they be okay until January?

Check the expiry date on the cameras to see if they will last until your wedding and for a bit afterwards. Why i say for a while after is that if the camera film expires in january and your wedding is in january you don't have much time to organise developing especially if you are honeymooning straight away.

After the date printed on the bottom or the side of the camera the film cannot be garanteed to be true to colour or suitable for printing.

The prints themselves are another matter. The shots will not be professional and will more than likely be taken by a drunk but the few shots that you do recieve can show you what your event looked like through the eyes of your guests. You might get one table camera with great shots from the designated driver and another with blurry motion shots from someone who swore the camera was straight!

I think these photos are a bit of fun but i would recommend getting the film put onto disk so it's cheaper to develop. That way you only pay for the cd conversion and afterwards for the shots worth seeing rather than paying for hundreds of prints of the floor with one of your nanna dancing with the flowergirl.

Disposable cameras actually have a expiration date. But they don't go bad all at once, they gradually lose color, fog, contrast etc. I've found an old disposable camera before and had the pictures developed and they had kind of a pinkish tint. But the camera was probably 10 years old.

I'd buy the cameras, that's a pretty good deal and I'm sure the film is still good. Check the expiration dates on them, maybe add a year on to it. Because I've developed disposable cameras that were just a couple years old and the pics were fine. They should be ok.

Check the expiration date on the camera. Film expires after a certain period of time and the cameras have an experation date on them either the side or the bottom.

However, I wouldn't waste your money. We had them on our tables and 95% of the pictures didn't turn out. You have to be no further than 5' away from the person or scene that you are taking a picture of. Plus, some would take a few pictures and that would be it. It was a waste of money and if I had to do it all over again, I wouldn't have the disposable cameras.

In photography class we were always told that film last about a year if stored in dark, dry conditions. Having said that check the expiry date. They don't go bad right away, but you don't get as good quality as if they were 'fresh'.
Also. from what I have heard they are a waste of money to have on the tables simply because drunk people (and armatures) don;t generally take good photos.
Remember you don't just pay for the camera, you pay for the development of the photos as well.

I think they last for ages.
But just a word of warning -
My cousin got married and my sister's boyfriend wasted a whole roll of film on the floor and the food. was terrible

they'll be fine
