Fuji Finepix s1000fd/Battery Life?

This is a 2-part question.

First, does anyone have this camera? If so, what do you think of it?

My second question pertains to battery life. Is it bad with this camera? I heard something about rechargeable batteries (NiMH?)... what are those?

When it comes to digital cameras, the best batteries are Li-ion batteries. The hold their charges longer and can last over 5 years if you use the charger made by the company that makes the camera.

Unfortunately AA batteries and even NiMH batteries are not as reliable as the Li-ions.

So if you can find a nice Fujifilm Finepix that uses Li-ion's your experience with battery life will be much better.

The other part of this equation is energy management. Leave the LCD off unless you absolutely need it. Turn off the camera when you are finished shooting. Try not to use the camera as an image viewer ... wait until you can show off your images on a larger screen ... like your computer.
