How good is fuji film S9100 digital camera?

I have used two of the Sony digi cams but outa 10 pics taken only about 5 come out good. and the more i use it the pictures are getting worse. colours also look a bit dull.

main problem is blurry pics. i know that it is because my hands shake but i have used a mercury camera that gave me really good pics, with good colour.

if any one have used fuji film S9100 or fuji film S7000 can you show me some sample pics.

Hi, I have a Fuji S6500 which, in my knowledge, is externally identical to S9100 and has much of the same core electronics, only has less MPixels. S6500 is an excellent tool, I love taking picture with it and the results are excellent. It is not a point-and-shoot, though and you'll need to think a little bit to make the most out of it. It is not a DSLR either, but it looks and feels like one and is perfect to learn the basics of photography without investing thousands of dollars. I made some research on line before buying it; somebody preferred the S6500 over the 9100 because they have the same sensor and it seems that its optimal performance is achieved with 6.3MPixels. 9Mpixels is impressive but I'm not sure that sensor can actually capture all this details = you may experience a worse performance than with 6.3MP, especially at high ISO. I hope it helps. Anyway, my next digital camera will probably be a Fuji and, thanks to the many things I've learned from S6500, I feel more prepared to handle a DSLR.
On the other hand, this camera does NOT have an Image Stabilization system like certain Canons do. Fuji has put an 'Image Stabilization' label but it is achieved through high ISO, not via a software or optical image stabilization. I would recommend going to a store, see how different cameras compensate your shaking hands and then buy in store or on line. I've read very positive things about Canon's Image Stabilization.
