I am having trouble transfering the captured video onto my pc, the still photos are ok, any ideas? Here's a helpful guide for transferring videos to a computer:

Most likely, your camcorder uses miniDV tapes - you would need a firewire port on your computer.
Otherwise, If your camcorder use VHS-C tapes, then you would need an AV capture device - refer to Section 3. Analog video capturing. jinx,
It would help if we knew your camera model.
Anyway, I guess you are download the pictures as it should be, but the videos should be transferred either through IEEE1394 or USB 2.0

You need a "firewire" connection, like the other guy above me, recommended.
You need a fairly fast PC, because the firewire will transfer the video at Mb/seconds! You don't want to have dropped frames.
Capture the video as a raw AVI PCM file, then you can edit it with Ulead MediaStudio Pro.
