How do i use this webcam??

i have a JVC digital video camera mini dv. i think the product number is GR-D72u. i was reading the manual and it says this can be used as a web cam. i dont have a mac i have windows. but it doesnt say anything about how to set it up so i can use it. your input please....thanks its greatly appreciated.

Page 36. Use the USB cable. And the camera menu selection is to be in "USB mode". The USB cable came in the box with the camcorder.

If you record video to a miniDV tape, you will need a Firewire port on your computer - and a firewire cable... This, too, has nothing to do with whether you are using a Macintosh or Windows personal computer.

This may have come with a cable to connect between your camcorder and computer. One end is is a standard USB (to the computer) the other a mini-USB (connects to the camera).

Connnect these cables then turn on the camera. If you are using Windows XP, new hardware should come up and within a few seconds a box with options should come up. If this does not work, look in the owners manual as it will surely have directions on how to make it a 'web-cam'. You may need a firewire connection instead of USB..depends on the camera's capabilities.
