Problem when converting video files from .MOD to .Mpeg?

Hi

I have been trying to convert MOD files to Mpeg1/2 files in various different SW packages so as to be able to take the footage of my JVC camera and use it in Adobe Premier.

It always seems to convert successfully, however when I bring the files into Adobe, they preview OK but when I try and drag them in to the working window, the play back is very staggered. I also noticed the in Media player they do not play back correctly. The sound is always fine though.

Is there some specific frame rate or settings that I need to set it too in the converstaion process? Or is there anything else I could be doing wrong?

Many thanks in advance

The .mod files are MPEG2, so simply renaming them will probably be enough to help your software use them.

For Sony Vegas I can simply drag the .mod files straight in - it ignores the extension and looks for the actual format.

Its important to note that the files are interlaced with upper-field first, not the usual lower-field first. This is important and possibly why you got staggered playback when you tried to convert them. Make sure that your media/project/export settings in any Premier is set to upper-field first and you can get silky smoooth video xD

Don't have such of a need to convert it. Just use the .MOD version of it...

U r so welcome lol
