Cannot download videos from any digital camera?

Please help. I need to download a presentation for an online class and I have recorded the video on a JVC 20GB HardDiskDrive Digiatal Camera as well as a Kodak Easy Share 4.0 camera. I can't get movie maker or Zoom Browser EX to recognize either videos. I can get the pictures on the camer to show, but cannot get the video. And when I go to movie make to download images, it says theres no camera hooked up. What do my settings on the camera need to be? I'm soooo tired of this class and this is the last thing I need to do. I'm defeated! I have Windows xp, please help me....

both Everio mod and Kodak files may noy be supported by wmmaker.
Check clarification on JVC .mod, together with Carol's helpful learning on MOD conversion using Prism.

Prism may also be able to convert kodak files too.
Then, import converted files to wmm.
