I'm writing a paper on landscape photography. What questions should i ask the photographer?

What do you want to know. Jeffs a bit short with you but hes planted the seed maybe?

What times they prefer to shoot, light wise?

Golden hours what are they?

How do you determine focal lenght and depth for your images?

What places would you most like to record?

What are 3 important things someone needs to make great landscape images?

Whats their favourite lens?

Whats their favourite body/lens combo?

the list goes on but i wont

a

The ones you want answers to.

I am guessing that what inspires them to shoot the what they shoot. The travels and experiences that they enjoyed in the pursuit of beauty.

Most of the landscape photos I have taken over the years have some amazing stories behind them.

Relax just ask them why they like doing it, and they will talk for hours as they are all enthusiasts : - )

How does he determing where to place himself, in relation to his subject?

How does he know, exactly, how much of the landscape needs to be within the frame?

How important is the time of day for his different types of subjects?

Are his most successful shots carefully metered and measured or are they taken "on the fly?"

Does he ever crop his negative images for printing?

The answers to these questions will tell you a lot about his thought processes that go into a successful shot.
