I need a good wide angle lens for a canon 350d for under 500 pounds? |
i only have a rubbish 17 -55 and i need something much better for general all round photography and landscapes. i will upgrade eventually so ideally something compatible with the 5d or 1d. The only lens much wider than what you have now that would also be compatible with a full frame camera would be a 14mm 2.8L. You might find one used for your price point, but that would be stretching it. Besides that, a 14mm isn't really all that wide on a crop-frame digital, being only equivalent to a 30mm lens or. I would suggest, rather, looking for a 10-22mm lens. You should definitely be able to find one for the amount you specified. If and when the time does come for you to upgrade to full frame, you shouldn't have any trouble selling it, either. You MUST try E-bay I've just had a quick look and with no exaggeration you will find over 150 for sale and most are new, "buy it now"......... The 10-22mm is a wonderful wide angle lens but it is designed for your Canon which has a 1.6x Focal length multiplier. The lens may work on the 1D's which have a 1.3x Focal length multiplier. It will not work on a full frame camera such as the 5D or Canon EOS-1Ds or Canon EOS-1Ds Mark II. DigiPro |
