How do I write about photography? |
I have this research task, to write about the various areas of photography, fashion, fine art, reportage, landscape, portraiture and landscape. Now I know very little about the technical side of photography, I have to show my "understanding" of each of these areas. What am I meant to write about do you think? Probably how photography is used to support these things. In landscape you can show environmental concerns, the beauty of nature, etc. Portraiture you can show the different aspects from school and senior pictures to family portraits and the importance of photography to recording people in history. You get the idea? Show how photography can show the positive and negative sides to an issue as well as it's place in history in relation to the topics you've described above. You could do all that and not ever get into the technical aspects of photography at all. well to a degree you take pictures with your eyes on a daily basis. in all of those categories. if you have time research the topic. there are more than one view point to each of these areas, there are the photos, the subject, and the photographer, pick a view point. or simply write about your learning curve of the subject as you research it. You need to find a co-author to write the technical portion and collaborate with the piece.
