Im doing art...? |
for a subject, i have a masssive project and need to submit a body of work, everyone in my class is doing paintinngs of nature or human sculptures or photography, Go look for ideas on deviantart.com etc. What about mixing backgrounds from anime (you'd get in some addl work that way and they are quite beautiful) with some character art? My son loves the style like you do and though its not classic euro art its definetly an art form. Sales and interest etc can tell you that. Check out classic Japanese art too-you might find an interest in that and could do some sub groups within an overall subject or style that way. Good Luck- art I think a lot of anime is really beautiful... it's easy to find examples out there if you do some choice google searches. if you do the anime, make sure it do it very well. at my school, this would not be acceptable. however, all great artists break the rules, so if you really want to do anime, then don't hold back and do an awesome job. Are you in high school/art school? I'd talk to your teacher/prof about it a bit if you can. But in a nutshell I would just go for it; your friends do not seem like they really know what they're talking about if they're telling you it's not real "art". Art is always subjective and personal, you can always argue your work. I ran into this same problem in 9th grade. When I was really into anime. Pretty much, as long as you shade and put the same feelings and effort into what you do as everything else you do, then it is ....."art" It's more of the way you see it than anyone else because noone else can do it like you can. |
