What are your opinions on SLR Cameras? I'm intested in getting one, but not so sure about it..? |
Hey everyone, I'm really interested in getting a SLR camera, but I'm not so sure on what brand I should get. The things I want to shoot are mainly nature, animals... But I don't want a very complicated one... Just a simple one, but good enough for quality photography... Can anyone suggest a brand and model for me? Oh and please tell me the price in Malaysia too... (I live in Malaysia). Thanks!! Any advice are welcomed... No idea what things cost in Malaysia but I'd suggest a Canon Rebel XTi. It's a pretty damn good camera for the price. It's about $900-$1000 US dollars with the 50mm lens. I like canon because of the range of lenses they have and I can find a lot of deals buying used stuff. Are you looking for a film SLR or a digital SLR? How much are you interested in spending? It makes a HUGE difference in how people answer you. Please click on the little pencil icon under your question and "add details" or post a new question and we can give you better advice. The two main contenders are Nikon and Canon. I'd go for Nikon's D80. Here's why: - The metering is acknowledged as the best there is. - The kit lenses (especially the 18-70) are better value than Canon's. - You can use all the Nikon AF lenses ever made -- this can save you big dollars on pro glass. - The body is adult-sized, unlike some of Canon's child-sized bodies. - Canon's sensor may be a squidgen less noisy, but you won't notice this in less than wall-sized prints. - Nikon's bodies feel better-made than Canon's. Hope this helps. |
