Oxford, St. Albans, Canterbury, Kingston upon Thames, Cambridge, Richmond upon Thames, Norwich and Uxbridge.? |
Which is the best to live in? We're moving and would like to live in a nice quiet, safe town/city with good job opportunities and public transport. Interested in hiking, photography, nature, art and history. Not interested in night clubs. you need to be rich to live in st albans - most expensive place to buy property right now, but is lovely. really nice market town, nice pubs and bars, good gyms, beautiful with best waffle shop EVER! Cambridge is nice too - it's bigger, lots of tourists and students tho- which can be a plus/minus depending on point of view. traffic and parking is a nightmare of tim burton proportions, but the architecture is lovely and watching the punters fall in the river inthe summer is good fun. lots of cultural events too. norwich is meant to be a good party town, and very young. has great shopping. richmond is very city-like, being that it's in a city - not surprising really cant help with the others...sorry, not even I have lived inthat many places!!! Source(s): i move a round a lot Oxford, it has lots of Art and History and Job Opportunities. However, not exactly quiet. There is a Bus to London every twenty minutes!! Oxford, without a shadow of doubt. I loved to wander along its streets and old alleys surrounded by stone-walled medieval constructions and quaint inns or going for a snack at a sandwich shop in Covered Market and the numerous lunching with friends at St. Giles Caf茅, then strolling along Broad Street, and the lovely afternoon walks in the wide open fields of University Parks in the Summer. Oxford is truly the city of the Dreaming Spires! Check out a short slideshow of Oxford I put together at http://flagrantdisregard.com/flickr/slid... Personal experience Each place is classically English so you should like each one. In Cambridge though things are um 'lively' at nightime. |
